Favorite Gossip Girl Songs - Chuck and Blair Edition
Over the last six seasons, plenty of amazing songs have played on Gossip Girl, and so many of them have helped enhance beautiful moments between our favorite characters. I thought I’d compile a list of the ones that stand out most in my memory. I’ll be doing similar lists for a lot of other pairings, so don’t fret if you don’t see your favorite song/moment/couple on here.

1. “The Queen and I” - Gym Class Heroes
Plays when Chuck is honored to play a small role in Blair’s deflowering in 1.02. 
Baby girl’s a queen
But the queen’s just a pawn with a bunch of fancy moves
And she’s made me a fiend
I’m going through withdrawals because I got nothing to lose

2. “With Me” - Sum 41
Plays, obviously, during Chuck and Blair’s first time in 1.07. Have we mentioned this song is probably about Avril Lavigne?
I don’t want this moment to ever end
Where everything’s nothing without you
I’d wait here forever just to see you smile
Because it’s true, I am nothing without you

3. “One Week of Danger” - The Virgins
This song plays in almost all the Chuck and Blair scenes of 1.08, and it replays in 2.07. It is CB’s song. 
Come on baby, we get along
One week of danger‘s not very long
Let’s get those clothes off before I’m gone

4. “You’re a Wolf” - Sea Wolf
Plays during CB’s makeout session in 1.10, and is incredibly prescient regarding most of their relationship. 
“The one that you are looking for
You’re not gonna find her here”
Old gypsy woman spoke to me, said
“You’re a wolf, boy, get out of this town”

5. “Three Wishes” - The Pierces
A beautiful, haunting song that plays the first time Chuck loses Blair in 1.10. Kinda wish they’d play it every time he does.
You want one true lover with a thousand kisses
You want soft and gentle and never vicious
And then one you’re saving for a rainy day
If your lover ever takes her love away

6. “Fell In Love Without You” - Motion City Soundtrack
Plays when Chuck sees Blair get off the jitney in 2.01. And, you know, Blair fell in love with Chuck offscreen - without the audience. Kidding!
Every aching wound will cauterize and bruise
In memory of what we used to call in love
And only time will tell if violins will swell

7. “Sea Out” - Guillemots
Plays during Chuck and Blair’s failed lovemaking session in 2.07. Depressing song, but it sounds beautiful, doesn’t it?
I treat her just like all the rest
Whisper fairytales of Neverland
Throw the pennies in her hand
Stroke her hair and tell her I’ve been cheating

8. “With Light There Is Hope” - Princess One Point Five
Plays when Blair tries to seduce Chuck without an “I love you” in 2.08. Though their words belie it here, their actions (and the lyrics) show how much they really do mean those words they cannot say.
With you, there is hope
In time, you will learn
There is nothing less charming than charming love
It’s amazing, this changing you

9. “Hero” - The Asteroids Galaxy Tour
Plays when Chuck asks Blair to dance in 2.12. Kind of a taunting song, as we were all probably shaking our heads at Chuckles by that point. Just tell her you love her, damnit!

10. “Signs” - Bloc Party
Plays when Chuck comes to Blair’s room in 2.13. This song makes me cry every time I hear it.
I see signs now all the time
That you’re not dead, you’re sleeping

11. “Season of Love” - Shiny Toy Guns
Plays when Chuck finally tells Blair he loves her in 2.25. And so appropriate to remind us that it took an entire season.
Crazy with it, crazier without

12. “Home” - Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros
Plays after Chuck and Blair’s first fight in 3.06. Most memorable because it’s Jake Coburn’s first door scene. I love you, Jake!

13. “I See You” - Mika
Plays when Blair tells Chuck he’s all she needs in 3.08. But Chuck sees through her and knows she needs Serena, too.
Truth be told, my problems solved

While risking the way that I see you 

14. “Too Late” - M83
Plays when Blair comforts Chuck at the hospital in 3.12. One of the most perfect moments on the series. The lyrics are few and far between, but amazing, so I’ll post them all.

Like a wall of stars, we are ripe to fall
And if you are a ghost, I’ll call your name again

15. “Wild Wolves” - Athlete
Plays when Blair tells Chuck she’ll always be his family in 3.13. This song describes both Chuck and CB to a T.

And I’m not alone, I’m not alone

16. “Make Believe” - The Burned
Plays when Blair leaves Chuck in 3.17. Such a heartbreaking moment and song.
Whose to know my world? And whose to share my worry? 
Mountains rise and fall all the time
And it doesn’t mean a damn thing to God
So make believe in miracles instead 

17. “I’m in Here” - Sia
Plays when Chuck and Blair meet at the train station in 4.02. Gorgeous scene, gorgeous song, mountains of Tatiana’s tears…
Can’t you hear my call? Are you coming to get me now?
I’ve been waiting for you to come rescue me
I need you to hold all of the sadness I can not

18. “Blue Moon” - Kendal Johansson
Plays when Chuck carries Blair up the stairs in 4.08. This moment foreshadows a wedding, no? Maybe the song will play again!

Close your eyes and don’t ask why
And I’ll be a blue moon in your eyes

19. “Make Me Wanna Die” - The Pretty Reckless
Plays when Chuck and Blair exchanges renewed “I love yous” at the Saints and Sinners party. Who knew Taylor Momsen would write a song perfect for Chair?

And everything you love will burn up in the light
Every time I look inside your eyes

20. “Rolling in the Deep” - Adele
Plays when Chuck and Blair briefly reunite in 4.22. Kind of love the juxtaposition of CB at their happiest in a season with the lyrics of a relationship gone wrong.
There’s a fire starting in my heart
Reaching a fever pitch
And it’s bringing me out the dark
The scars of your love remind me of us
They keep me thinking that we almost had it all

21. “In Safe Hands” - Badly Drawn Boy
When Chuck sets Blair free to be with Louis in 4.22. The lyrics are just so perfectly matched to the scene and I want to cry.
I’ll leave you now in safe hands
Cool your soul, its love still stands
But failing that, just cool down
Wouldn’t you love to make it?

22. “Video Games” - Lana Del Ray
Plays when Chuck apologizes to Blair in 5.06. No matter how you feel about Lana, how can you not love “It’s you, it’s you, it’s all for you” playing in the background of Chuck’s heartfelt speech?
It’s you, it’s you, it’s all for you

I tell you all the time
Heaven is a place on earth with you
Tell me all the things you want to do

23. “Shells of Silver” - The Japanese Popstars
Plays when Blair “tricks” Chuck into kissing her in 5.07. At the time the song didn’t feel that memorable, but it really encapsulated CB at the moment, I feel.
This feels strange, as the closer we get to the grave 
Everybody wants love, but it’s not enough
To have a good heart, but it’s not enough

24. “Somebody That I Used To Know” - Gotye feat. Kimbra
Plays when Blair asks Chuck if he’s really been good this whole time in 5.08, and we never heard the answer. Such a great song for this moment, though, because they had almost become strangers in season 5.
But you didn’t have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened, that we were nothing
And I don’t even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger and that feels so rough

25. “Heartlines” - Florence + The Machine
Plays when Chuck and Blair run off together in 5.10. Another painful moment, ugh. Also, the song is kind of spoilery, no?

And oh the joy, oh the joy it brings to me
But I know it’ll have to drown me
Before I can breathe easy

26. “Wicked Game” - James Vincent McMorrow
Plays when Blair tells Chuck they can’t be together in 5.11. Another song that acknowledges out loud how cruel Blair was to Chuck this season. :P But he deserves it after seasons 3 and 4.

27. “Wait” - M83
Plays in 5.14 when Blair tells Chuck to, well, wait. A song called “Wait” telling CB fans to wait. Get it? You get it.

28. “Love is a Fire” - Courrier
Plays when Chuck asks Blair to help him with his dad troubles, and she accepts. Because love is a fire, bitches. 
Home again, back where it all began
All I see is seasons of you and me

29. “Hang It Up” - The Ting Tings
Plays when Chuck and Blair reunite in 6.01. C’mon, it’s a great sex scene and super pumped up song. 
Live by tricks when you don’t have a thing
Live like a hippie if you wanna be king
People say it’s not worth the wait
Everybody loves somebody to hate

30. “Angels” - The xx
Plays when Chuck and Blair are in the limo in 6.01. Sometimes I think maybe the writers don’t care about CB, but then they choose songs like this one…
